Areas of Expertise

Support in a wide range of sectors

Whether you need some assistance on a strategic, tactical, or operational level, I can provide support in a wide range of sectors through training and mentoring, advisory services, or consultancy.

Over the last ten years, I have been involved with assignments related to:

  • Corporate Transformation, Long-term Corporate Strategy and Road Mapping

  • Operational Readiness Transition Assurance (ORTA)

  • Technical Due Diligence (TDD)

  • Asset and Maintenance Management

  • Performance Measurement and Management

  • Defect Elimination and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

I am happy to talk to anyone working in any of the above areas, but my particular focus is currently on:

By conducting an assessment of your project or operation, I will give you a snapshot in time which can be used for the creation of bespoke benchmarking schemes. This will help with gap analysis and the development of an action plan for the future. I can also help you prepare for any ISO assessment.

If you are closing a deal, I can help provide you with the information you need for assurance. I will conduct a thorough evaluation of all the technology and processes, spanning maintenance and asset management, so I can identify any potential red flags, pitfalls, and opportunities.

Calling upon an outside person allows a fresh perspective. It is a means of identifying, evaluating, and mitigating any operational issues which, if unaddressed, may have adverse consequences. Over the years, I have acted in this role as an expert witness, trusted advisor, counsel, owner’s engineer, and critical friend.

Starting as an apprentice, some forty-five years ago, I have worked my way up through all levels of maintenance through to Maintenance Superintendent and on to consultancy. I can cover in-depth technical issues, the use of techniques and tools, and the structure and performance of maintenance organisations.

Your priority is to keep your assets running. There is no room for any down time as a loss in production means you are not getting the most out of them. So, I will help you maximise the value of any asset throughout its life-cycle. I have specific experience of being involved with corporate asset management transformation programs and operating within an agile environment.

A high percentage of delayed projects have severe problems, often extending into their early years of operations. By applying best-in-class operational readiness practices, it gives assurance to stakeholders such as lenders, consortiums of PMC and EPC, owners, and operators. The aim is to eliminate the impact of common risks during commissioning, start-up, and initial operations.

“We couldn’t have done this without Wayne’s vast knowledge/experience within the arena and outside of the scope, true professional and expert.”

“I worked with Wayne, and I found him to be a knowledgeable individual who was more than willing to share that knowledge and I learned a lot from him.”
